Here are the highlights from Big D's 1st day of Kindergarten!! I can not even describe his excitement this morning while waiting for that "Big Yellow Bus"... the photos below say it all!

Official Announcement...I've Relocated!!!

So this is the official announcement to all my amazing Georgia Clients & Friends...we have relocated to North Carolina! I know everyone is wondering where I've been... it's been very nice not being in front of the computer for the past 2 months. I told myself earlier this year, once we move...I would take a backseat from work to spend time with my kids since it was my son's last summer before starting primary school. We truly love our new location... it brings a much more peaceful lifestyle than the metro city, I now hear the birds singing every morning. We are looking forward to beginning a huge project later this year...building our permanent family home. For now I'm tearing ideas out of magazines and making a "Must Have" list! After this recent move...I never want to move again... we have more crap than I thought!!

Get this Big D is entering Kindergarten tomorrow!!! I still can't believe it? He is extremely excited and can't wait to meet all the kids in his class. As he is my first baby... I'm not sure that I'm ready for all this yet. He's even talked me into letting him to ride the "Big Yellow Bus" to & from school, YIKES!!! We'll see how it goes...Ever since he was 2yrs. & I would drive him to preschool, he counted all the school buses on our way to school and asked why he couldn't ride the bus. I told him, once you are 5yrs. old then you can do that.... lets just say, he has a great memory! So starting tomorrow @ 6:58am he will be boarding the "Big Yellow Bus" & I'll be balling my eyes out from behind the camera...you know me, I've still gotta document the experience. LOL!!

I can't wait for next month's, Mommy's Get-a-Way with my 2 "BFFs"... only 20 Days to go!!!

So today our little guy turns 5! Where has the time gone?... seems like yesterday we were excited about welcoming him into this world. Now we are excited that he will be starting Kindergarten this up coming school year. Amazing isn't it? Until then, we will enjoy our time together this summer with FuN filled Adventures! Have a Fantastic 5th Birthday Bud...we LOVE you Bunches=)

We are back from a nice long weekend in Orlando, FL. The kids, my mom, & I went down to Disney for a nice & relaxing trip to celebrate my son's 5th Birthday...and everyone had a "Magical" time as they say!

MWSM Workshop...

Today is a new day! I'm rising above everything and making the offical announcement of my workshop. Thanks to all for the continual love & support=)

After months of racking my brain on how to give back to many mothers who attend my Theme Shoots each month, I finally decided to offer a hands-on workshop to help them better understand the functions of a camera. This workshop is intended to improve everyday photos & special events you have as a family... such as holidays, birthday parties, or a day at the park or beach. I will cover the basics in ways to make this learning process as simple as possible. So if you're a mom that would like the title of, "Momma Who Shoots Manual", than this is for you! Please join me and a few other mothers that are eager to get their cameras out of Program Mode and into Manual. As most moms feel, we control every aspect of everyday life... so why should your camera be over powering you? Time to take control of your ISO, Shutter Speed, & f/s=)

Success At My Expense!

Welcome back to the world of blogging...

After months of slacking on my blog, I didn't think this would be my first subject to blog about. As most of my followers know, I'm a professional and I don't thrive on drama.

Well...I was informed by a friend/client this afternoon around noon that the same photographer, Stacy Martinez who has been using my Kreative ideas for almost 2 yrs now, is back at it again. Now I know you ask, how could she know about anything recent since this is my first blog in awhile? It's called Facebook! Her & I have the same circle of friends/clients due to our husbands that used to work together. So word of mouth is how she came across the same idea, holding a photography class as I've already announced
on April 19th @ 7:29pm on Facebook.
Here's what my post read: "DO YOU HAVE A CAMERA?...I've decided to hold a Basic Hands-on Photography Workshop. All Mommas that want to learn more about their cameras...this is for you! By the end of the session you will be shooting in Manual Mode with all Natural Light. Please contact me if you are interested or to hear more details=)"
Then again I posted this on FB on April 23rd @ 2:48pm: "TO ALL THE MOMS OUT THERE!! If you are interested my photography workshop...please contact me aspiredkreations@bellsouth.net for all the details & pricing. Looking forward to meeting all of you soon=)"

Just to give you an idea of what I'm dealing with...read her posts from Facebook as of today!
Posted on April 29th @ 11:38pm: "...will be offering a photography class for those with DSLR's. If your interested, please message me for info."
A comment she left after the post: "It's more for beginners. I was asked a while back if I would. After talking with my friends about it, I have decided to go ahead with it. Thanks Ashley and Alicja
And another on April 29th around 4:05pm: "Photographing a newborn today! Thanks for the interest in the class. I didn't think 8 would be interested. I will put together the info and send it out. Thanks you all!!"

Let's see how much more this grows???

Let me remind you, this is just the MOST recent idea she's taken and twisted to make it her own... and she always backs up the idea by saying, her friends convinced her to do it or once I call her out on it, she deletes the evidence. Hahaha.... It's been months since I've announce anything new and the first time I do, this is what happens. What kind of person does this, not professional at all. I have saved several of her price lists and such that she has published on her blog/facebook that I could post here to back up all my ideas she has used, but what for? All I wish is for her to be herself and take pride in her own work...trust me there's a bigger reward to success when you can claim it as your own. There's no reason for you to have to search online throughout other photographers websites to get ideas to make you feel better about yourself. My intentions of this blog is to get this her off my back and focus on her own ideas. I'm flattered that she is inspired by my work & success. I'm willing to help & offer advise to others, but not ones that take the shortcuts. I live my life honestly and I'm proud of my success. The difference between making a quick buck & a professional is having common courtesy to not copy others.

How adorable are these two love birds! I met up with Megan & Greg in downtown Savannah in early October. We started the shoot around the Oglethorpe Square and worked out way to River Street. Well, back in late June I was given the greatest opportunity to photograph a business property for all their marketing needs. This apartment community blew me away!! The Preserve At Godley Station is located off Pooler Parkway in Godley Station. Talk about a vacation in itself, this property has it all...just look at the highlights below and you'll get that vacation feel instantly!

This past Sunday, I met with Sarah & John at Tybee for their engagement shoot. First let me say just how adorable this couple is. The first thing they were worried about was not knowing what to do, but with a little direction...I think you'll find that they worked it out! Not to mention how crowded the beaches were that day and we still managed to work around all the beach bums too! Here are my favorites from the shoot and I had a really hard time narrowing these down. Sure hope you enjoy:o}

Time to start thinking about Watermelon...the month of August will be here before we know it.

So we've all heard of Gymboree, right? Well checkout their Watermelon Line I spotted yesterday while in the store, I thought this was worth sharing with you today! Let me just say, super cute and so many choices to choose from. Thought you might want to plan ahead.

I think this is cake #3 for Baby R, but she's not complaining...from her birthday party, to preschool celebration, and now this shoot.
I think mommy is going to love these. It took sometime to get her to sit down, but once the cake was given to her, she knew just what to do...DIVE IN!!! Well again baby girl, Happy 1st Birthday. I sure hope you enjoyed all the cake, icing, & pictures.

Rock Star Birthday Party...

The party invitation I designed for the Big Rock Star Party...

and now the party...

This Saturday was my son's 4th birthday party and man was it Rockin'!!! I believe we had everything you could think of to entertain all his friends & their parents too. The decor was purple, red, & black. We had a head table for the kids with balloons, noise makers and even cups with red twirler's to snack on. Even the adults enjoyed sipping on Rock Star energy drinks.

Once the kids & parents were all wound up after a sugar over load, it was time to "Party Like a Rock Star"! The kids just loved all the Rock Star necessities, from the colored hair spray, to the tattoos, to make-up, and hair accessories for the girls. Then the Rock Stars were styling...it was Guitar Hero time for all, "I wonna Rock, ROCK"!!!

Sure hope everyone had a jammin' time & enjoy Rockin' to the birthday music CD from the Birthday Rock Star!!!

Also, thank you to those who helped with setting/cleaning up before & after the party, it meant so much to us...you're awesome!!!

What can I say? All my Little Sprouts this past Saturday were absolutely adorable. Whether they wore something of daddy's or took casual photos with daddy, I got some really great shots!

Father's Day THEME SHOOT!!!

Okay, I've had several requests about this shoot and questions as well. To clear up the difference between "A Day in Daddy's Shoes" & "A Day in Daddy's Boots" this is what my envision is... dressing your Little Sprouts in the attire that reflects Daddy's work profession. Whether it's a business profession like a dress shirt, tie, & dress shoes or a service uniform such as military, police/rescue, or anything in between. The bigger the clothing & props, the cuter this will be. What a great gift to surprise him with or feel free to bring Daddy along for some casual shots with the kids too...I'm open to anything you throw my way. Here is a recent post from a new local photographer about changing the name of their Mini Shoots to reflect what I call, Theme Shoots. I'm assuming this photographer is hoping to have the same success as I've experienced with my Theme Shoots. And with this said, I take it as a compliment...

Alright, I finally had a chance to upload some highlights from The B. Family Shoot last Wednesday at Forsyth Park, celebrating a Big Happy 3rd Birthday. I enjoyed everything from Miss K's big blue eyes to her little pink tutu down to her Fancy Toes painted hot pink! She seemed to love posing for the camera & playing on the playground.
I even managed to get some lovely shots of Mommy M. & Daddy D. while Miss K. ran loose around them... and trust me, my camera was smokin' towards the end of this shoot, they were such an attractive couple... I could get enough of them! Thanks guys :o)

I'm so thrilled to announce my Mother's Day Shoot, baking memories in the kitchen for all mommies & their sprouts. I've always thought about taking pictures while my son & I are baking during the holidays, but I just didn't want to deal with the mess & trying to get great shots at the same time. So after some thought of what to do for all you Mommies... I've come up with this idea... "Baking Memories with Mommy". I'm so excited to finally share highlights from my last Hot Momma Shoot back in January. You see I had to wait until after Valentine's Day because this was a gift to their husbands and now that they have seen these amazing photos, I couldn't wait to share my favorites...while keeping it tasteful too! Last Saturday, I was given the opportunity of documenting Baby E's Baptismal @ St. James Catholic Church in Savannah, GA. This was a very special day for the entire family & I'm so grateful to have been a part of it. Little Baby E was completely adorable and his big brown eyes & smile just lite up the room. He is such a ham and I only hope to photograph more of him as he sprouts.

So, after the ceremony the reception was held at The Westin Savannah Harbor. As I walked into the formal dining room, it was just too cute. All I saw was the color "green" everywhere. From balloons to these very yummy Mickey Mouse rice crispy treats to lots & lots of jelly beans and finally the 3 tier cake! I was blown away by how much thought Mommy S. put into all the details. She is incredible!!! I felt like I was able to bring out my kreative side and just have fun with it...documenting all the detailed shoots was super Fun! "One" Happy Birthday Girl...

Look who is ONE year old today...my Baby Girl! Where has this first year gone? I guess keeping up with 2 children is more challenging than sitting back and capturing all those first baby moments, like I did with my son. However, I managed to capture every month of her life from behind my camera and held a mini photo shoot for her each month. So now without further-a-do...here are my favorites of her, enjoying her very own Birthday Cake! She totally got into this birthday thing...from the icing... to the cake... to the mess... & finally to the BATHTUB!!!

THEME SHOOT: Marshmellow Fun...

Thank you to the Big & Little Sprouts that came out this past Saturday for my 1st Theme Shoot for 2009! Even though, we didn't have real winter weather to enjoy hot chocolate, the marshmellows were a big hit! I think Baby C. enjoyed the sweet treat the most, being she is only 4 months, that's the best thing she's tasted so far & couldn't get enough. As for the older sprouts, they were wonderful...I was able to capture many great photos. Hope the parents enjoy the sneak peeks from the shoot below. hugs~ krista

An evening in San Marco...

So after starting out at the Laundry Mat last Saturday, we made our way down to San Marco, FL. I was able to edit these tonight and wanted to share my favorites. Thanks again to S. & D. for everything, I just love shooting in new places and having something different to show for. You both are awesome!

For years, I've always wanted to photograph someone in front of this shop, "KRISTA" spelled just like mine!!

There were so many great shots, but I couldn't get as many edited as I thought I would. My baby girl woke up, she is teething (poor thing) & wanted me to comfort her. So this is all for now, have a nice night. ~Krista

A day @ the Laundry Mat....

Okay, I'm back home after several days of not being able to get on my computer, I couldn't wait to edit & post new work. While in Jacksonville, FL I finally was able to fulfill my envision this past Saturday by using a laundry mat as the location. Back in November, while on vacation I had to stop at a laundry mat to do some of my kids clothes... sure brought back memories of actually having to do that on a regular basis when my hubby & I were living in Texas & going to school. Anyways, after all that...I began thinking of shots in my head and taking mental notes...so here are my favorites. Thanks to Miss S. & Mr. D for being so open minded and wonderful in front of my camera.

I finally go my copy of the South Mag Dec/Jan issue and I was thrilled to learn that I only had to turn to page 3 to find the photo I shot for 40 Volume Salon's full page Ad. They also have an ad in Skirt! & Savannah Magazine that I also covered! I just loved working with this salon, they allowed me to showcase my work in a different light, very Bold. Here are a few pix of the magazine ad... how exciting!!!

All Aboard..."The Polar Express"

Well, the kids and I are back from a wonderful road trip. We had a great time traveling together with Grandma & Gee Gee(Great Grandma). On our journey, we stopped to ride The Polar Express to the North Pole and visited Santa. The kids had so much fun singing Christmas Carols, reading along to "The Polar Express" story, while sipping on Hot Chocolate and eating a chocolate covered Santa in our Cherokee coach car. Once Santa joined us on the train, the kids were able to take pictures with him and tell him what they wanted for Christmas. Each child was given a silver bell from Santa, just like in the story. This was definitely worth every penny, just seeing how excited my son was, he couldn't have been happier. By the way he asked Santa for a guitar.

The next morning we were off to visit family in Michigan(a long day in the car). The first day we had great weather. However, the 2nd night it started snowing! So after dinner, we couldn't hold back, we had to go play. We were able to make a little snowman and my son made his first snow angel. He would have played all night long if I let him. So the next morning I just knew that I needed to get the kids pictures before the snow began to melt... these photos turned out perfect! My little girl was just so happy and seemed to love the snow too! So below are photos from the trip... I had a hard time posting just a few. Now I'm getting back to work and catching up on all print orders for the Holidays. Please be patient with me...~krista

I normally try to post all my highlights during the day, however I find myself trying to squeeze more work into a day which is why I'm still on the computer at 11:15pm.

I wanted to share these photos that were taken this past Sunday. This was something very different.... The Fair! What a brilliant location! The lighting was great and the kids were oh so excited to play games, get on the cool rides, and eat funnel cakes. I sure enjoyed myself, thanks to the G Family for a memorable evening. hugs~ krista

This past Saturday I was rather busy...

Bouncing from a Baby Shower to an Engagement Shoot, & then to a Little Sprout Shoot in Forsyth Park. Mommy N & Little J were here visiting family and mommy wanted some photos of Little J for their Christmas cards. Shelley & Dustin's Smokin' Hot Engagement Shoot...

So today I've been on the go...
This morning I photographed a Baby Shower, photos coming soon!

Then I spent the evening with Shelley & Dustin...
We started at The Columbia Square where Dustin first proposed to Shelley, Awww...
The two of them were absolutely adorable together and couldn't keep their hands off one another. The photos definitely defined "LOVE".
I truly enjoyed this entire shoot and just couldn't wait to share my favorites :o) eNjOy!!

Yesterday I had a blast photographing Mommy Jessica for my 1st Hot Momma Shoot. She is a mother of a sweet 2yr old little girl, which I photographed at my 1st Little Sprout Theme Shoot back in July & a Family Shoot just recently.

Doesn't Jess look amazing here, she sure knew how to work the camera. We had so much fun from the train tracks to her hubby's football jersey...SHhhh!!! I just know he will be jaw dropped, Lookout!

Jess, I must say: you are such a beautiful woman and mommy too, thanks so much...this was by far one of my favorite shoots, I look forward to the 22nd!

A Destination Wedding...

So after an entire day of rain on Friday, it ended up being a beautiful day yesterday for Rachael & Mike's wedding. They were married at The Savannah Yacht Club in Savannah, GA at 5:30 in the evening. I had so much fun with this couple and their little boy was just too cute!

Well, I couldn't wait to share some shots from their day, I loved so many that I had a hard time narrowing down my favorites. EnJoy!

Army Wives: Gives Back

Being an Army wife myself, I can understand the emotional rollercoaster that this life style brings to a marriage. During the days that my heart is broken due to a deployment I use Prayer, Strength, & Patience to get me through it & watch "Army Wives".

So almost 2.5 years ago I photographed Latrice & Dan and they were recently awarded a trip to California as their dream honeymoon through an Army Wives, Gives Back promotion. Here they incorporated a few of the photos from their photo session in the video.

After walking down the asile 5 years ago and not completely happy with my wedding photographs, I was eager to model for Scarlett Lillian as a Bride. Here is just a sneak peek of what's to come. While posing throughout this shoot definitely made me appreciate all my clients for what they must endure. I'm so excited to see more photos from my Bridal Glam Shoot. A Wedding with Scarlett Lillian!

So back in September, I spent a day with Scarlett and I thought that was a chance of a lifetime. Well, just last week she asked me to shoot a wedding with her, and all I could say was, WOW!!! You bet, I'll be there! Come Thursday, I loaded up my mommy mobile with the kids and we headed to Jacksonville.

First-on Friday, I met with an old friend, Shannon who is also a photographer in Jacksonville and it was great being able to share tips & advise with one another. I have made & reconnected with some great friends in this photography industry and it's nice to be able to Network back & forth. Even though time has passed- here Shannon years ago was my cheerleading coach & Scarlett was a friend from high school...it's crazy to think how small this world really is??? Thanks to Shannon for keeping me on track!

And now, The Wedding...
Last Saturday, Amy & Joe were married in St. Augustine, FL at The Oldest House. The day started out rather early at the Casa Monica Hotel & then ended at The Llambias House for an outdoor reception. Everything was beautiful from the Bride to the flowers to even the smallest of details. What a privilege this was, to shoot a Wedding with Scarlett Lillian.

Earlier this week it was a delight to photograph the K Family while Daddy is state-side for only a couple weeks. So we started at Forsyth Park and got some great photos, but we ended up venturing away from the Park and the out come was amazing. I just love the wide range of scenery here in Savannah... it's different from one block to another. I'm always trying to bring something new to every shoot and I love finding new areas to work with. Kristin & Jeremy are Married...

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of documenting Kristin & Jeremy's outdoor Wedding in Statesboro at the GSU Botanical Gardens. The day started out with overcast skies and rain here & there. We kept our fingers crossed and prayed for it to pass. Luckily it only sprinkled for a short time and we had to use an umbrella, but it actually made for some really great shots. As the evening drew near, the weather was perfect... clear & cool with a nice breeze. Here are some shots to share for now while the couple is off to Jamaica on their Honeymoon.
